Working in a demanding world

I appreciate the effort others choose to make to show kindness and joyfulness in a fast-paced world that demands so much. Having an online business is interesting because I get to interact with all sorts of people and personality styles. It’s a great opportunity to build positive rapport, interactions and even make friends on my Channel.

In-person, I observe others and notice their language without words. I guess it’s body language. Often, it’s the energy in which they move and operate. Maybe it’s intuition that I can see into a person’s intent. It’s easier to do in-person. It can become quite a deception online as all I have to go by is the words on the screen. Living in this technology era has too many demands. And running a business can be absolutely demanding.

I remember working a job where I did not meet the expectation because of a difference in values. I would not lie to customers about where to buy a product. Many of those customers were older people asking how they could obtain the item. They were not as tech-savvy as younger ones. I was called to the carpet to be told “don’t say this” because it resulted in a lost sale. Although it also resulted in empowering the customer to buy the product locally and save money. It’s funny how things work out. Now I basically operate my own business. And I get to choose what is ethical and what is not. It feels good to not answer to someone with modified values who perhaps sold out for a paycheck.

What is selling out. That has to be answered on an individual basis according to one’s own value system. For me, it would be selling sponsored products to my Frugal Living audience that they don’t want and cannot afford. I have been avoiding sponsorships for quite awhile. It would increase my income which would be great. However, right now, it’s not a good fit. It could be in the future if it was a really good product and great savings to the audience.

Thank you for reading my article. Now I have to go back to work because self-employment is a demanding job!

I found self employment to have so many rewards, mainly peace, but yes, it can consume a lot of time. I loved interacting with my customers and the travel from mountains in summer to desert in winter.
Any way. You’re still my favorite u tuber, I understand the effort and most of all the talent, that seems to come naturally to you.
I am a widow, and find I have time to watch u tubing, yours I look forward to.
    God Bkess You.
All things work together for good to them that love God.

    • I thank you for your kind words. I always wanted to try self-employment. But in years past, because of the difficulties I faced, I did not have the encouragement or the courage to try. Every video I make reminds me that it’s a different time now. I do not have to follow tyrannical rules that someone else determines for me. I can determine my own pathway forward to become successful. I remember some of the key phrases I was told in order to control me and basically keep me small, to give in and to give up on myself. My attempt at self-employment may not be a big financial win at this time. But it’s a huge spiritual win. God Bless You, too. And thank you for watching my Channel!

Sarah, I value honesty and compassion. By refusing to lower your standards and ethics you show that you too value those morals. Maybe that’s why I enjoy your YouTube videos so much. I’m glad you decided to bring your ethics to YouTube and your viewers. Thank you. God bless!!

    • Thank you very much. I strive to produce content that is uplifting and encouraging. It’s easy to do what the status quo is at the moment. But that fluctuates with current trends. The topic of ethics on YouTube is very interesting to me. Sometimes I notice the manipulation tactics used to prompt an audience to send gifts or buy products. It’s a delicate issue because on the one hand there’s the goal to earn money. On the other hand I’d ask “at what cost”. God Bless You and thank you for your comment!
