What is “YouTube Money”?

On occasion, I’ll read a comment stating I make “YouTube Money”. And thank God for that because I work hard on my videos to make it the best I’m capable of making it. But what is earning on YouTube really look like? If you’ve ever wondered, then please keep reading.

I’m sure you watch a variety of channels. You’ll see some videos have 500 views, some have 5,000 and some reach 50,000 views or more, all depending on the channel you watch. Content creators will even address their income in videos, from time to time. I’ve seen YouTubers share their earnings data, and I’ve even seen some misrepresent it to their audience to provoke certain emotions.

It’s kind of funny how folks will downplay their income to keep the “struggle” story relatable to their viewers. A good measure to estimate how much a video has earned is move the decimal point over, twice. So, if a video receives 50,000 views within 24 hours, then earnings are likely a minimum of $500 of Ad Revenue on that one video during that window of time. Keep in mind the earnings potential for that video continues over time, but it generally decreases. Also, if the content creator participates in Paid Sponsorships, then they have another branch of earnings potential. There are many ways to increase earnings potential, some pay off more than others.

Whenever I read comments about making “YouTube Money”, I wonder what do people think I earn on my Channel? I’m hoping 2026 will be my breakthrough year where I earn more. February has been hard. I have been under the weather off and on, pretty much the whole month. That’s made my job harder to do. But now that it’s March, and the weather will get warmer, that should help me get out of my Trailer more often to walk and get a little sunshine in my life.

I want to thank everyone who reads my articles, watches my videos and supports my work! I have some upcoming video ideas for Spring that I hope you will enjoy.

God Bless You ALL!

I think YouTube money is a lot more complicated than what people realize. Your way of estimating is good as an estimate, but CTR rate also plays a role in that. Sometimes my CTR rate is high and sometimes it scoops down to almost nothing. It also depends what country is watching you. There’s so many things that go into it. Then you have to divide your actual time that it took to create the video to record to write scripts to do all the things you do and divide that up. And a lot of times what seems like it might be a lot of money is really not a lot at all.

I think a lot of people look at YouTube and think it’s easy money and it’s far from it. It’s a lot of work. A lot of things go into it that people never even see or understand. Just keeping up with the comments alone is almost a full-time job and I have a very small channel.
