Why I don’t ask for money or gifts from my Subscribers!

I started my Channel in 2022. Since then, I’ve been asked several times by Subscribers for a way to send me gifts. This is a fairly normal experience where folks want to share their financial resources to send their favorite channels things like Gift Cards, presents and other items to help out financially.

Although it has become normalized to do this, I do not want to take advantage. I have many senior citizens that watch my Channel who live on a fixed low-income. I am not saying that others who accept gifts are taking advantage but I am saying my opinion on how I see it as it pertains to my Channel. I find it distasteful to ask people who may already be living on low-income wages to send me things. The folks who watch my videos and subscribe to my Channel are doing me a great service by staying engaged with the content that I create.

And, there are Memberships available right now as an option for those who wish to support my Channel further. Just like sending a “Super Thanks” is an option. I appreciate everyone that supports my work whether it be watching the entire video, or hitting the Like button or even becoming a Member. I want folks to engage as much as they desire without feeling any pressure to buy me things or spend their money.

Although I am considered a “low-income” household, I am very blessed. I have my health, a roof over my head and many things to be grateful for in my life. I also have bills like everyone else and I work very hard to make the best videos I can so that loyal Subscribers have a fun place to visit and enjoy. Thank you for coming back each week to watch my channel. When you do so, you are helping me earn an income so I can make a living. Thank you very much!

I am so happy that you don’t have all that special member either. I live on a fixed income as well and can’t afford too become a special member just too see special content. I look forward to your videos every Tuesday and Friday. I also love Mr. Turtle and hunny bunny and friends… and might I add black pepper time.. all my love to you . Keep doing what your doing and giving all us great meal ideas and small space storage tricks. Love the content…

    • I appreciate your support! My Channel is built on Frugal Living and I want to stay true to those roots. It would be easier for me to add product reviews and “sell” things to earn more income, but I am trying very much to keep the content free from paid sponsorships. It’s a challenge for sure as the income does not equal the work I put into my Channel. After 2 and 1/2 years on YouTube I still choose to keep earning money based on views. Every time you watch my videos, you are helping me and I thank you for that! I love the happy place I’ve made on YouTube with Mr. Turtle, the Pepper Song and Honey Bunny and Friends. I’m so glad you love it, too!

Hi Sarah. I do the same things you do too.
    Food Bank.
    Thrift stores.
    Junk, dump.places.
I live in a shed converted to a tiny house.
So our everyday living is similar. It’s nice to seeing someone live and be content living low income!
    Take care.

    • That’s a good point about being content with what you have! I remember a time when I had little furniture and that was my life. I sat on the floor a lot. And I learned to be happy with not having basic items. Back then, life was very hard for me. Life today is so much better. I love my little home! It’s a huge blessing. I’m living on a low-income but I’m creative and that creativity helps me have a really nice home! Thank you for reading my article and for also watching my Channel!

I appreciate your comments very much. You have values and standards that are not commonly found today.

    • Thank you for reading my article! What I try to do is stay focused on filming and learning how to make my videos better. If I can make the best video I’m capable of making then I know I’m doing my best work and God willing, it will pay off. I think some folks may take advantage of others thinking it’s a “networking” opportunity. The world is different now but I don’t see a benefit in taking from those that may actually be in need of help themselves. I won’t re-brand that to justify doing it. I appreciate you watching my Channel and reading my blog!
