What to do when…

Bad things happen. A lot of heavy news has taken place recently. It weighs down having hope in the world. The way around it is what I call “next step thinking”.

Choosing to think ahead to the future, and what the best next step is … well that’s a good place to start. In my own life, when I had to face becoming homeless in 2020, I took the next step. It was difficult. There were problems that popped up during the process. But I kept going.

If you are facing a problem and don’t know what to do, then consider mapping out ideas for the next step. Problems don’t feel good. But working through them does.

Creating your own productive and positive solutions are the way forward. I believe in prayer. I believe in Jesus. And I believe in problem-solving. Whatever issue you may be faced with, know that God loves you and there is a way forward.

Amen Sarah. I am a Born again Christian myself. I believe in Jesus too. He’s my help, my lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path . Trusting in Him every step of the way.as I struggle with things here God has doors open on where I need to go. Thank you for sharing. I finally went to my first food bank near my home. I was truly blessed with a big box overflowing with canned goods and a big box of fresh veggies. I even shared with my neighbor who also shares with us when she goes . Thank you Sarah for being an inspiration to us.

    • That’s good news! With all that’s recently happened, I think many people will be positively influenced to seek a relationship with God. Also, I’m glad you received great items at your Food Bank and share with your neighbor. Thank you for reading my article!

Sarah, you always seem like a sweet, caring person. Watching your videos always calms me. I truly enjoy seeing what treasures you find and I like to try to guess what items you’ll get at the food pantry. Our food pantry is much smaller but I’m still thankful for the help it gives. Have a wonderful, Blessed day ❤️

    • Thank you very much. Yes, the food pantry is a blessing and each one has their unique offerings. So much help is given and appreciated from canned tuna to coffee and everything in between! I hope your day is great, too!

Sarah that was really needed. Had a huge blow up with mom. Im her kicking post and im so tired of being abused. Yes I talked back to her but she talks to me horribly all the time. I feel so dead inside from our recent conflicts. She has always been hateful toward me and she throws up that in high school, approx 1977 I told a cousin how mean she is too me. She still throws that up. Im so tired of fighting. I just can’t handle it much more. 1 of my sisters hasn’t spoke to her in over 10 years, the other..once in a Blue moon and my brother may talk to her 1 or 2 times a week because of the attitude. Please pray for this situation. Im so stressed overit..

    • I don’t know if this might help, but I’ll share in case it does. If you look up “Internal Family Systems”, you’ll discover info about how children are assigned roles in the family. Some are assigned to be the golden child, the helper child, the scapegoat and more. It’s extremely difficult to manage conflict with close relatives who have a history of using abuse strategies for decades. You are not alone, Gina. Many people suffer in silence with similar situations. There’s no easy answer. Sometimes folks are just not well. Accepting it is one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned. I was able to exit some prior situations in life, that really helped me. But that’s not always an option. Try to remember when someone mistreats you, that’s a “them problem”. Use it as an opportunity to treat yourself well. God Bless You!
