Being on YouTube, I was able to create Channel Memberships. In doing so, I chose the price levels for the Membership options. I currently have two levels to choose from. But why did I price the options so low? Please keep reading!
When I created my Channel in the Fall of 2022, I did not know what to expect. I was brand new to YouTube and knew very little about making content. Although I did not know how to make videos, I sure did know about Frugal Living! If you watch my earliest videos, you’ll see how my content has gradually evolved and gotten better over time.
In creating Membership options, I considered what my audience was facing. There are many viewers who manage lower monthly incomes that watch my Channel. Many of whom receive disability and/or are struggling to pay for their basic needs. I also have viewers that are not facing the same type of struggle. But, I had to make a decision. I chose what would work best for those with the least financial resources.
The Membership is an option, not a requirement. For those that wanted to participate in becoming a Channel Member, I chose to make it as affordable as I could. I selected the lowest prices YouTube would allow. The Membership cost is 99 cents to $1.99 per month.
In doing research, I noticed other channels had higher cost memberships and although I could have chosen higher pricing, I wanted to stay true to my Frugal Living roots. I have not increased the cost of Membership and I want to keep it that way.
