For Love or Money?

If you are young and attractive find someone that loves you and wants to take care of you. Maybe you are independent and want to fall in love with someone yet maintain your independence. I’d offer an alternative perspective. Love can come later. But those monthly bills, they are always due. All young people are beautiful because youth in itself is beauty. When you can leverage your youth to build a life, to build a future, don’t miss that opportunity. Because when that boat sails, it’s gone.

I think it’s wonderful whenever I hear of a couple in love that got married young and it’s lasted for decades. But in today’s world, help with bills is a top concern. It’s awfully expensive to pay for everything on your own. Help is not on the way when you reach a certain age. That youth when it’s gone, nobody will be there to offer some romantic line like “I want to take care of you for the rest of your life!” and that’s really in the movies. The day-to-day life is full of bills and problems. For the women who are stunningly beautiful, they’ve got more options to choose from and that’s just life. If you are blessed with natural beauty, don’t waste it because that might be your ticket out of poverty.

Relationships are transactions. I hate to say it, but this is life. Someone in their 20’s, maybe 30’s have more of a chance of getting that old-fashioned kind of love. But for most people, look at things strategically. Housing is the largest expense over the course of a lifetime. If you are renting most of your life, you may go broke…not everyone, however, I’ve known a lot of broke folk paying rent. Paying this on your own for let’s say 50 years, it will be hard. You may have to get roommates, and deal with all of that to help.

It might be easier to just get married, especially for younger people. Because our society is no longer focused on building families in contrast to let’s say our GrandParent’s generation, now it’s more of an independent culture. Paying bills on your own for decades will cause financial suffering. Unless you’ve got a great income. It might be hard to look at someone you’re not physically attracted to, for decades, but sometimes you can fall in love with someone that pays your bills. I’m not saying go out and use people. I’m just saying doing life on your own creates problems down the road.

Right now I’m facing a bill that will essentially wipe out 1 month of my low-income. It’s got me all messed up. A lot of women are in the same boat as me: they don’t have financial help. Some lessons you don’t get to go back and fix. You can only move forward and put one foot in front of the other. That’s just life. This is when bitterness can set in. I try to be BETTER and not bitter but life is hard. I’m sure many people can relate to this. I hope my monthly income improves in the meantime I’m going through my stuff to sell items because that’s one thing I can do right now. What’s the one thing you can do to make your life better? Let me know in the comments.
